Skiing in Yamagata
Today is May 5th, it's the middle (or almost the end??) of my 9 days holiday from Apr 29th. During this holiday, I went skiing twice at Mt.Tengendai in Yamagata prefecture. Yamagata is the upper left next to Fukushima where I live on a map. Here's a picture we took on Apr 29th.
There's still plenty of snow on the mountain. This is another pic on May 3rd.

Snowy picture with cottage is really familiar, it could be from Finland, but another photo is just only from Japan. Thanks for sharing them!
We have here only small hills. In Lapland, the northern part of Finland, are some a little higher, still small mountin -"tunturi"- as we call them.
There are in Finland plenty of Slalom places and they are open
five - sechs months a year.
When I was the kid, schoolchildren went to school by skiing, no nowadays.

When I was a child, about 30 years ago :-> one of our teachers showed us how to make a pair of bamboo mini ski.
I remembered that we had much more snow even around my neighbor in those days.
But these days, at least last 20-25 years, we haven't heavy snow but only on the mountain.
It's really comfy but I sometimes look back on the good old days with nostalgia.
